Church History
On the second of April, 1894, the Woodruff Place Baptist Church was organized with 125 members who were released from the First Baptist Church of Indianapolis.
This new congregation took on the name of Woodruff Place, indicating its prestige and prosperity.
Fire struck the meeting house of the Woodruff Place Baptist Church, January 7, 1926.
Here, in the image to the left, you see a picture of the ruined facade.
The state of the art new building was completed within a year and was dedicated November 28, 1926.
This magnificent edifice containing a large sanctuary, meeting rooms, and gymnasium, has been carefully maintained to the present day.
