We who are committed to the work of the gospel in the inner city can certainly identify ourselves with the restoration generation in Zechariah 8:1-17.  Sometimes the Lord gives us an encouraging word to remind us of his purposes at work in our lives.

A Question of Worship

The reconstruction of the Temple in Jerusalem is well under way.  Now a delegation arrives from the sanctuary at Bethel.  The delegation inquires of the staff in Jerusalem whether certain worship practices should continue.  The LORD assigns Zechariah the responsibility to answer.

The Coronation of Jeshua

The strong messianic overtones of Zechariah 6:9-15 are not lost on us.  We see the Lord Jesus prefigured in the name of the son of Jehozodak, namely "Joshua," the Hebrew form of the name Jesus.

Identified Flying Objects

In Zechariah 6:1-8, the prophet describes a fantastic vision.  But unlike our modern-day "unidentified flying objects," the objects in this vision are identifiable.

Flying Visions

Zechariah's messianic era is further illustrated in these two visions, both of which hold in common the idea of airborne items.  Either vision addresses a particular issue pertaining to qualities of kingdom citizenship.
