Tanners: Reuben's Hearing Postponed
Dear Friends and Loved Ones,
Thanks so much for your prayers and encouragement! Thursday we did get to see the judge, but she postponed our court hearing to this Tuesday, May 5th. She was very backed up with cases and this is quite common out here. So Salome and Mama Juma (Reuben’s birth mother and grandmother) will have to make another trip here. Salome misses school each time and the trip is not simple. They either walk, catch a bicycle or motorcycle ride to the main road and then take a two daladalas (15 passenger van with 20 + people in it and takes about 2 hours) to Lugeye and then catch a motorcycle ride into Mavuno. They spend the night here and we head to Mwanza (about one hour, but sometimes longer with traffic). We put them on a bus home after each attemptJ.
We are praying the judge will hear our case and we will be able to finish the Tanzanian side of the adoption on Tuesday! Thanks so much for joining us and praying!
In two weeks, Bethany and the kids will head to RVA, Kenya for home school week. Levi and Launa will take tests to see if they are on level with their school work; Bethany will help a bit with grading the tests; and Reuben will just hang out. We will be there for a little over a week and look forward to spend time with Kaylen and Danae. Bethany and kids will be catching a ride with another missionary couple, so Dan can stay home and keep things going.
Please pray as we are trying to get the land we own surveyed and a title deed. We need minutes from the village elders, and then for it to work its way through the processes of government. This is holding up some of the building, so just pray it will be done without hassles. We are also trying to get the plans for the next house approved and building underway. This is the home we hope to have built and occupied by orphans by the end of this year!
Dan’s dad is still in the hospital with very little change. The doctors continue to change his antibiotics. Pray they will have wisdom and strength for Dan’s mom as she spends long hours at the hospital.
Thanks again for your love and prayers!
God is good all the time. All the time, God is good!
Love you,
Dan and Bethany Tanner
