“At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, ‘Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.’” Hebrews 12.26
Dear Family and Friends,
This Morning I Felt My Fourth Small Earthquake In One Month! While I was playing outside with the boys I saw the water in the drainage gutter start sloshing in and out away from the curb. Then I felt dizzy and realized the whole earth was shaking beneath my feet! I looked up and saw the coconut trees swaying and the power lines bouncing. Earthquake! Sometimes I am on the bed nursing Malachi and I feel it rocking; I look across the window at the neighbor’s house, and their Christmas lights are swaying. These small earthquakes are a strange experience for a Nebraska-raised girl like me, but they are a great reminder that God is in control and that He is going to come back to “once more shake not only the earth but also the heavens!” Am I prepared?!
While We Wait For The Kingdom That Cannot Be Shaken (see Hebrews 12.28) we continue to serve our students and neighbors in the Philippines. Nate is really thriving in his middle school worship Bible class, teaching them to be thankful, to worship God with reverence, and to lead their peers in following the Lord. He is also excited to be leading the middle school students soon on their annual outdoor education (OE) trip to Luzon near Manila. Nate will be the squad leader of the 8th grade class, who decided to name themselves the “Savage Monkey Children” (or SMC). This title gives you a good idea how to pray for Nate! Ha-ha! This year they will bring their band instruments a few days early to join with the Faith Manila students in a great combined band experience. Then they will spend several days learning together about WWII history near and on Corregidor Island. Please pray for safety, health, good unity, spiritual growth, and wisdom for Nate’s leadership as these students travel February 4-12.
God Has Been At Work In Our Filipino Community. The Scripture review with my 12 ladies went really well, and I myself was inspired by them to review the Scripture I have memorized! The ladies testified about how God had used His Word this past year to change their lives and families! Praise God for the encouragement and blessings He gave at this event! (There are some pictures on our blog—website below).
The Lord Has Also Been Providing For Our Neighbors In Many Ways! Since I wrote last month about the need for food, God has provided money through various supporters for rice for these brothers and sisters in Christ. On Christmas we were able to share 50 kilos of rice with the community, and one supporter helped to pay for the feeding of more than 200 children on Christmas day (pictures also on blog). Additionally the boxes arrived with many toys, clothes and shoes for children. The leaders of the church decided how to distribute them and use them for ministry, such as putting buckets of toys in the homes where Bible studies are held so that the kids can play while the parents study God’s Word. Finally, God is using our local church together with Compassion International to adopt several children in this area and provide for their educational needs. We praise God for his provisions and for all He is doing to grow the faith of our local brothers and sisters in Christ! Please continue to pray for wisdom on how to best serve and share with our neighbors in need.
Missionaries Do Not Get Junk Mail—so we are thankful to those who sent us Christmas cards! I’m sure it is hard to imagine a mailbox with no junk mail, but for us we look forward to any piece of mail we receive here! It is so good to hear from you, even by e-mail, and we praise God for you often! Thank you for continuing to support us, encourage us and pray for us this year.
All for Jesus,

It doesn’t seem possible that our 6 month Homeland Ministry Assignment has come to an end. Our time here has been so busy. We have traveled over 20,000 miles and been able to share with many of you about our new ministry in Zambia. We are so sorry that we haven’t been able t see all of our supporters this trip but 6 months is such a short time. We promise to keep you informed by email and newsletters. Our time with family has been so special this holiday season. We have also had some quality time in our home church.
Truly the words of Jesus to His disciples in Matthew 24 appear daily in our media. Earthquakes, famines, nations rising against nations, wars, rumors of wars and false prophets are deceiving many people. The one thing that remains true is that His Word will be preached to all nations. We covet your prayers for all those that go in His name to accomplish the great commission.
We want to thank you for being a Champion as we partner together to take the Good News to the people in Zambia.
We depart for Zambia via Kenya on 26 January. Your faithfulness in serving Him has made this possible and we want to thank you.
Prayer requests:
The heavy rain and floods in Kenya has taken many lives and caused much destruction. The bridge we built in Maasai near Olderkesi has been severely damaged and is not usable. Funds for the repair of the bridge are needed.
Famine relief funds are still needed to buy food for many parts of Kenya.
The earthquake in Haiti has caused so much damage and destruction. World Gospel Mission is assisting through partners there. Funds are needed to assist these people.
A smooth and quick transition to Zambia.
Travel to Kenya and then on to Zambia.
Praise:
For ministry needs being met for our return to Africa.
For the many champions who minister with us.
For our Zambian work permits that were granted in November.
Please save the dates of 24 – 27 of June 2010. These are the dates for World Gospel Mission International Celebration this year. We will be celebrating 100 years of ministry around the world. We hope to see you there.
In His service,
Billy and Jenny Fuller

New Year greetings from Kijabe!
Merry Christmas from the Ballasts in Baguio City, Philippines!
Thank You for your prayers and support! We praise God always for you and hope that this Christmas season you will take time to be quiet before the Lord and reflect on all He has done for you this year.
“Only hold on to what you have until I come. To him who overcomes and does my will to the end, I will give authority over the nations” Revelation 2.25-26
Dear Family and Friends,
On Friday Morning I wrote in my Journal: “Good morning, Lord. Amor is here and I hung on ‘til she came!” Nate had to leave for school early to get ready for chapel, so I was trying to play with Elijah and carry Malachi, all with a sore knee that wouldn’t bend. Malachi started crying and needed my attention, but Elijah lost his ball out in the street while a motorcycle was speeding past. I kept lifting my eyes hoping to see our helper, Amor, appear just at that moment. When she finally made her way down the street I stood literally holding on to Malachi until the second she could help me with Elijah.
I Opened My Bible to the Place I had Bookmarked, where I had left off the day before. I couldn’t believe how clear these words rang out to me as I read them: “Only hold on to what you have until I come.” It was exactly what I had just written in my journal—what a picture! Me holding Malachi waiting for Amor to come is a small picture of what Jesus told us to do—He is coming soon and we need to hold on until He does!! We need to lift our eyes and wait expectantly for him hoping he will come any second! We need to persevere and stand firm in our faith, doing His will ‘til the end. Oh, friends, please pray that we will be faithful to do God’s will holding on to our faith to the end. We pray also that you will do the same!
God’s Grace Flowed Through Nate Friday as he conducted many students in the band concert, “Sounds of the Season”. We continue to praise God for the growing band program, all the instruments He has provided, and the wonderful new stage, lights and sound system. What a blessing! We also praise God that Nate and I have now served here with Wycliffe for five years! As we reflect on what God has done we can see a picture of growth as we listen to the students playing their music. Nate first arrived in 2004 and taught the principal’s daughter when she was in 2nd grade. Now she is playing clarinet in his middle school band and leading worship in chapels! I taught my squirrelly sixth graders in Bible class the year I became “Mrs. Becker”, but Friday I heard them making beautiful music in Mr. Becker’s high school jazz ensemble! Before we know it, Elijah will be in Kindergarten! We praise God for his blessings in our ministry these past five years and ask you to pray that we will continue to serve Him joyfully and faithfully here in the Philippines.
We’re Looking for Orchestra Music that Nate can use in his Davao Youth Orchestra, a combination of Filipino students and his international students. If you know anyone who may have piles of scores sitting in a dusty box somewhere for high-school level performance, let us know! We’d benefit greatly as it is hard to find such music over here and it can be very expensive to buy new from overseas.
Twelve Filipina Sisters Will Come to Our House Thursday to present their scripture memory verses and to decorate Christmas cookies together. This will be a wonderful opportunity for review from what they learned in Bible study last year, to share with each other what God has taught them and for restoring relationships among the ladies. Please pray for this event on Thursday that God will be glorified and that the ladies will be mutually encouraged.
The Day I Went to Deliver the Invitations I had eaten two homemade cinnamon rolls for breakfast. When I arrived to tell about the cookie decorating and scripture review, some had anxious expressions and one even said her mind was too full of worry to remember all the verses. I learned that one of the sisters had not eaten and her son was crying from hunger because there was no food. One sister was not at home but later I saw her walking with two empty plastic bags saying the cheap rice was all gone and they had no rice. How could I be telling them about cookies in December when they had no food for breakfast? This breaks our hearts and calls for much wisdom from God. We praise Godthat some people from the U.S. shipped some large boxes full of children’s clothes, shoes and dishes to share with these neighbors of ours. We ask you topray for more wisdom for us on who to give them to, how to give, and how God will have us be his hands and feet here.
We’d Love to Receive Your Christmas Card if you are willing to spare the postage! We love hearing your updates and keeping in touch, so if you are able please send us mail at:
